TOP special exhaust from DN-Performance for vespa ciao

Hey all!
The prestigius and serious company DN- Performance from Aix-la-Chapelle will soon build an exclusive series of special exhausts for the Ciao!
This company works at at the highest level of high-end tuning and constructs complete racebikes for a lot of well known championships like the DSSC and is very succesfully with that.

At the picture: complete self-constructed racebike, 50ccm, basis Derbi engine, complete DN-Performance.
Im the team: Ralf Waldmann (Ex-Moto GP driver "Waldi" )

We will start the first tets in november on a P4 roll with a Ciao P.
The engine will be a professional portet Ciao engine with a 13/13 Dell Orto, tuned crankshaft and we will test some cilinders like the Kit Racing and perhaps the Fabrizi Torriani and DR evo.
We will try some exhausts like the Proma CC and Calibrata to get the best performance with the new exhaust.
Furthermore we will test pully and vario.

Our target is to build the BEST exhaust ever made for 63ccm cilinders which will even run very good at bigger cilinders by TOP performance!
This exhaust will surely be the best exhasut ever with an amazing racing look and completely handmade.
Furthermore this exhaust will be very exclusive, because every exhaust will be an unique by just a little number of productions!!
It will be the best in optic, quality and performance ever seen for the Ciao!
Here some examples: all exhausts are specially desinged customnized editions.

It is a cooperation of DN-Performance and me.
We will do some tests with the DR Evo and Polini Kit Racing and perhaps with MofaFreak87's Pinasco Ciao.
I can't say something to the price at the moment, but I will have more information soon.
If we have got more than 10 people wo buy one we will build more than 10 pieces.
This will be very exclusive and much better as the Calibrata oder Proma CC or Fabrizi Racing.

The exhausts from the photos are only examples for the good work of DN-Performance.

We will do some tets on variomatic and automatic (pulley) transmission to get the best results.
We think that we gonna use a 22mm flange for the casual cilinders with standard flange.
Special wishes and changes are possible.

I know the chief of this company and we will work together on that project on a very high level!

There not made yet. Fabian says there going to start next month building prototypes.

We are going to start the tests next month and than we build a prototype.
You will get the prices, photos, results and diagram papers here in this topic.
Then you can order the exhausts. We won't give out the proportions and drawings of the exhaust,
this wouldn't be clever.

We need up to 10 interested people, who buy an exhaust, this will be very exclusive!
I think we will test a 46mm Pinasco, too.

Hello all,

I have some more news about the exhaust. The prototype is made but will be tested more

Prototype DN exhaust

So we started the first P4-testruns. (Date und time are wrong.)
Setup:
- DR evo with Polini cilinderhead
- my optimized milled motor-housing
- crankshaft with ptimized timimngs
- 13/13 Dell Orto SHA
- optimized Polini airfilter
- Proma Cirquit (CC)

The red graph is from the first run. We have got 5.6 hp at 7392 r/pm and 5.4 Nm torque at 7100 r/pm till 62.4 km/h.

After we had optimized the mainjet und the ignition with the P4, we got 5.9 hp at 7226 r/pm
with a torque of 5.8 Nm at 7035 r/pm, measurded till 63,6 km/h.

Under the diagram you have got all important infos.


Furthermore we did a peak performance run were the engine had 5,9 hp at 7147 r/pm and reached a V.max of 83 km/h at 10 800 r/pm.
Unfortunatly we had to stop this run before we got the full performance.


Based on these results some exhausts will be calculated and papermodels will be created.
Of course, we will do some other tests. This is just a info for you.

So yesterday we tested the exhaust and got 6,5 hp and 5,8 Nm with DR unported!! (Setup is written in this topic)
Diagrams will follow soon.
I tested this exhaust on the street and it is much better than the Proma CC, you will see this on different diagrams, too!

It has got a very wide and high torque-curve, even much better than the Calibrata!
The exhaust is not too long, if we shorten the exhaust, you will just get your full performance at 10.000 r/pm. That's too high.
With Proma you get it at 6.800 r/pm and with Calibrata at 8.490!

Furthermore we got the full pwerformance about 2.000 r/pm, this is a very good result.
At 8.500 r/pm we got 2 hp more than with the Proma CC, so this exhaust will run very nice with variomatic, too.

And even on a mono transmission the torque is much better than with the Calibrata and Proma.

I think the price will be round the 200 Euro, that's totally okay for such a hnadmade exhaust, if you see the diagrams, you will be convinced about that and we worked many hours on this exhaust.

AND the part at the beginning is NOT straight, it is conical and made out of 2 parts!
