( APE ) reverse gear

hello again,
i'm having difficulty assembling reverse gear at differential and close crank.
I took it out, but now can't put it back in

How do you do it?

Install gear at shaft and then try to insert selector ( half round metal thing ) in the gear and close right side crank?

Or

Have the gear installed at selector and then try to fit into shaft and close right side crank???

photos? i imagine what are you meaning, but i'm not sure if it is right...

if i understand correctly, you have problems with the gear thar moves on the shaft, correct?

there isn't a method to do that... yust try how you can assembly easily (for you) that gear.

in my opinion, you should put the gear on the selector, and then fit in on the shaft

yes is what you saying.
I already try both aways, but seams i'll have do try few more times.
it's my 1st time, so i have to figure it out how to do it and try to arrange a method that works for my self.

i'm thinking one other away, like this:

fit gear at shaft and with some kind of metal bar or screwdriver, hold the gear at the middle of it and try to insert the selector into the groove and maybe it will slide.

one more question:

When driving forward, where that gear rests?? if you understand what i meant to say!!
