in that case will i loose speed, whit that measure?
also, i'll have to change front tyre as well, because weight are different: 90mm vs 108mm!!!
Or this will not be very visible or will not disturb handling?
And what about the rear wheel, how can i bring them more to the outside? wider rim or some kind of spacer between drum and rim?
any pics or video explain how it's made?
Hi Nuno...to mount larger wheels, you can buy rear wheels and spacers "Seriacopi". are 3cm wide wheels with a spacer in Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)or Teflon,i don't remember very well, so you can install tires 120/70/10;120/90/10;130/70/10 and 130 / 90/10..are built by my neighbor ... it cost € 90 without shipping cost
those are the photos after i had install "Seriacopi" in my ape
daniel , thank you for your comment.
I bought extra wheels to do the other way, without the teflon spacer in the middle of the rims.
i will try do make normal wheel plus large half to the drum and 2 large halfs plus small or large half to the drum with tube tyre!
i never saw, but put some kind of " plastic " in the wheels with the kind of roads that i have in my region, doesn't seam very goos idea
but, i do like your wheels and the offset that you got that way
i read here, that with normal wheels 2.50/10 and no change made to suspension, i can mount with no problem 120/90-10 maximum. Higher, like 130/70 or 90 i have to do the modification.
hi guys,
is it possible to use at rear, 3.00 -10 SIP tubeless rims?
if yes, witch maximum tire size can i use, with and without spring cut ( 2.5 turns )?
130/70-10 is ok or spacer is needed??
I'm asking this, because in my region is easier for me to buy tubeless tires!!
If someone have different ideas on how to use tubeless tires, i appreciate your comments!!
thanks,
nuno
P.S.: kind of stupid question, but... is it possible to use TL tires with tube??
pat_96 ha scritto:i think you should buy tubeless rims
But if you want, you can use tubeless weels on ordinary rims with a tube
that's also my opinion pat, but my doubt concerns tire size, with 2.50 or 3.00 rim. Because, these SIP rims are aluminum and it's very difficult and expensive to weld aluminum and steel ( to use with half wheel as spacer ).
With 2.50 rim, you already told me i can use 120/90 with no problem. But what if i want to use 130/70... ? I still need the spacer, even with 3.00 rim, correct??
2 other option:
Use 110 or 120 tires!?!??!
Stay with the regular rim ( using doppiochercio ) and use TL tires with tube?!?!?!
